Responses to an earthquake
Before an Earthquake, scientists will use a special measuring
device the Richter scale to detect when an earthquake is going to start,
earthquakes start when two tectonic plates when their rubbing each other and
then slip. The measure of the earthquake isn’t a lot of time to prepare because
it’s normally like 1 minute earlier possibly, but more time is better than no
time at all. Besides from the Richter scale there are also many non-scientific
ways like hearing the ground or just look or feel the little movement on the
start but these are really useful ways as well.
During an earthquake people will run into a
field/clear space so that they don’t get knocked over by a building or any other
objects.
If the person doesn’t
have time to move out into an open space they can crawl under a heavy
object/table so that they don’t get hit. During an earthquake buildings will fall because the earthquake
shakes the ground and nearly everything will fall.
Sometimes an earthquake normally triggers a tsunami because the violent shake may chnage the sea level.
If this does happen/if you wan
After an earthquake medical staff and other people from other countries or states will come
to help out the place that has been hit by an earthquake. They will then search
for how many people are killed and are missing. Money will be donated to the
place where it has been hit to quickly rebuild but will waste a lot of money for
the wreck. ReliefWeb has reported that a total relief of $2.5 billion given and
a further $1.3 billion pledged from the 2010 Haiti Earthquake.
People who knows that they are in a earthquake zone will make
a earthquake safe house which doesn't break as quick as normal house.
But a earthquake safe house uses different materials than a normal house and the materials costs more than a normal house
so the majority of the people in the earthquake zones don't have enough money to afford the workers and the materials.
